Embassy delivers to young Indonesian documents that accredit her to study medicine in Cuba

Jakarta, August 23, 2018. The young Indonesian Asya Mathlubaa, received today morning the documents that accredit her to study medicine at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Cuba, starting next September.

In the company of the prominent Dr. Samsuridjal Djauzi, President of the Indonesian-Cuban Friendship Association, his mother, relatives of other Indonesian students who are in Cuba and workers of the Embassy, Asya thanked for having been selected and promised to make her best effort to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor.

Jakarta, August 17, 2018. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Nirsia Castro Guevara expresses warm congratulations to the Indonesian government and people on the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba joins the celebrations for this anniversary, recalling the friendship between the founding father of Indonesia, Sukarno and the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, as well as his legacy.

Díaz-Canel send message of condolences for earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia

Havana, August 7, 2018. On occasion of the devastating effects of the magnitude 7 earthquake, which affected the island of Lombok, Nusa Tengara, Indonesia, on August 5, the president of the Councils of State and of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of condolences on behalf of the Cuban people and government, to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, which he extended to the families of the victims.

Dear all, we want to inform that neither the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba nor the Cubans living in Indonesia have been affected by the earthquake that recently ocurred in Lombok, Nusta Tengara, Indonesia. There is a Cuban residing in the region, however she and her family are fine and maintain permanent contact with the Embassy. Regards.
