Toronto, May 3, 2026 — The Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto “Juan Gualberto Gómez” strongly condemned the recent executive order issued by the United States government, describing it as a new act of aggression against the Cuban people and their families.
In an official statement, the organization denounced that the measure intensifies the economic, financial, and commercial siege against Cuba, while introducing punitive provisions targeting individuals and entities, both U.S. and foreign, that collaborate with the Caribbean country.
The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participated in the May Day celebration organized by the Socialist Action movement.
At the gathering, the work of the labor movement around the world in favor of improved labor and social conditions was recognized, as well as the need for peace worldwide, and the solidarity of the Cuban people was acknowledged.
During the speeches, the cruel blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, the war in Iran, and the genocide against the Palestinian people were condemned.
