Mr. President;

The right to life is in serious danger. The United Nations Charter, International Law, and multilateralism are been threatened. There attempts intending to impose economic coercion and political subversion as methods to establish international relations.  This is not only immoral but also illegal.

This Council should call more strongly for a just and democratic international order that ensures peace and “the balance of the world”, sovereign equality and the exercise of the right to development by all States, thus ensuring the exercise of all human rights.

Colombo, February 14, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andes Marcelo González Garrido, received at the Cuban diplomatic mission in Colombo, the president of the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates of Cuban Institutions, K. R. D. C. Rathnamudali, who was accompanied by members of the board and other members of the association.
During the meeting, they ratified their support for Cuba and their solidarity with the country where they studied and trained as the professionals they are today.

At the Cuban Embassy in Sri Lanka, Ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido received Shamal Fernando, managing director of Slim Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd, with whom he discussed, among other topics, his possible participation in Cuba Salud 2025, the 5th International Health Convention to be held in Havana from April 21 to 25, 2025.
Slim Pharmaceuticals, founded in 2011, has formed a network to establish a reliable pharmaceutical distribution channel within the island of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka condemns US use of illegal base in Cuba

Colombo, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) The Frontline Socialist PartY (FSP) of Sri Lanka condemned the decision of the United States to use the illegal naval base in Guantanamo, Cuba, for the reception of Trump[s deported immigrants, so stated the national newspaper THE ISLAND.
 
 
  The Sri Lankan party demanded, in a statement, the immediate withdrawal of the United States from the US naval base in Guantanamo and the return of that illegal occupied territory in Cuba.

The Front Line Socialist Party of Sri Lanka strongly condemns the decision of the United States government to imprison thousands of migrants detaining at the Guantánamo Naval Base. This decision has been recently announced by President Donald Trump. It is a manifestation of the oppressive and exploitative nature of U.S. foreign and immigration policies, which are clearly against the humanity.
