Mr President,
Cuba rejects in the strongest terms this openly hostile, interfering and politically motivated exercise against Venezuela.
Cuba is firmly opposed to the resolution that gave rise to this mandate, which is a clear example of politicisation, double standards, selectivity and an imperialist attack on a country that has chosen sovereignty and social justice as its flags.
Mr. Chairman,
Mrs Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of UNCTAD,
The Cuban delegation associates itself with the statements made by the G77, China and GRULAC.
UNCTAD, as the cornerstone of the United Nations system for addressing trade and development issues, as well as other aspects related to finance, technology, investment and sustainable development, has played an important role for developing countries and should continue to do so even more.
