Press Release: Donald Trump's Government Strengthens Blockade against Cuba.

New York, 20 September 2017. On 16 June 2016, as part of his new policy toward Cuba, the current President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced new measures to intensify the blockade, contained in document "National Security Presidential Memorandum on Strengthening the Policy of the United States Toward Cuba". These measures are:

1. Prohibition of economic, commercial and financial transactions of US companies and entities with Cuban companies and entities related to the Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.

Press Release: The Blockade against Cuba persists and is rejected by the international community.

New York, 14 September 2017. During the years 2015 and 2016, the government of the then President of the United States, Barack Obama, put in place some measures seeking to modify the application of certain elements of the blockade against Cuba, which occurred in the framework of the reestablishment of the diplomatic relations between both countries.

However, significant obstacles to its implementation have persisted and key aspects of the blockade have been maintained, as well as the laws on which this policy is based.
