The event was co-sponsored by pro-Cuban groups based in New York, like CubaSi, July 26 Coalition and Casa de las Americas.

The Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations celebrated the 64th anniversary of the assaults to the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Garrisons, with the presence of Permanent Representatives of Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), members of solidarity groups with Cuba and Cubans who work at the international organization.
