On September 20, representatives of the Working Group for Bilateral Cooperation between Cuba and Barbados held their first virtual meeting. Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba (MINCEX) and David Comissiong, Ambassador of Barbados to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), and representative of Barbados to this Joint Working Group, chaired the exchange.
Within the framework of the IV Ministerial Meeting of the China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, Cuba's Minister of Foreign Trade, Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, held a fruitful meeting with Chad Blackman, Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment of Barbados. Both dignitaries ratified the willingness to deepen trade and business ties, as well as to advance in the fulfillment of bilateral commitments between Cuba and Barbados.

Speakers at the event included the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, the Secretary General of CARICOM, the Representative of the African Union and the President of the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors organization.
