Chinese citizen wanted by Mexico extradited to Mexico.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Statement

On October 23, 2025, following a formal extradition request and by decision of the Cuban government, Chinese citizen Zhi Dong Zhang was handed over to Mexican government authorities.

This individual had been detained in Cuba on July 31, 2025, for crimes committed in Mexico: document forgery and human trafficking, as provided for in the Cuban Penal Code, and was under provisional imprisonment.

Art programme honours Vietnam–Cuba friendship

The special art programme honouring the Viet Nam–Cuba friendship took place in Ha Noi on October 24, featuring a rich line-up of artistic performances.

Jointly organised by the Embassy of Cuba in Viet Nam, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations, the Red Cross Society, and the Department of Culture and Sports of Ha Noi, the programme marked the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 – December 2, 2025).

Vietnamese justice minister receives Cuban counterpart

Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh received Cuban Minister of Justice Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinez on October 24 on the occasion of the Cuban delegation’s visit to attend the signing ceremony of the Ha Noi Convention.

Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh emphasised that Viet Nam would always remember the wholehearted support of the Cuban people during the Vietnamese people’s struggle for national independence, as well as their continued support in the current cause of national construction and defence.
