Cuba participates in negotiations on Climate Change in Bangkok

THAILAND, September 4, 2018.- A new session of global climate negotiations began in Bangkok, with the main purpose of advancing the preparation of the procedures and the work program that will allow the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement of December 2015.

The goal set by the 197 States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is that these guidelines can be adopted at the 24th Conference of the Parties to the Convention, which will take place at Katowice, Poland, in December this year.

Minister for Special Development Initiatives receives the Ambassador of Cuba

Mrs. Mavis Hawa Koomson, Minister for Special Development Initiatives, and Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East constituency (Central region) received the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, at the headquarters of the Ministry.

The Minister, in her words of welcome to the Cuban Ambassador, highlighted the longstanding historical relationship between Cuba and Ghana, and recognized the positive impact on health indicators in Ghana of the presence of Cuban doctors, whose first group arrived in 1983.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Ana Teresita González Fraga will begin next Monday a tour of several countries in Europe and Central Asia, the Chancellery of the island reported.
According to the source, González Fraga's journey includes visits to Belarus, Georgia, Poland, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Iceland and Ireland.
The vice minister's agenda includes official talks and meetings with authorities of those countries with which Cuba maintains diplomatic relations.

Malaysian media echo blockade damages
