Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Honorable Dr. Terrance Drew, arrived in Cuba this Wednesday.
The official visit comes within the framework of the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries, established on May 10, 1995. This is the first visit he has made to the island in his capacity as Prime Minister.
During the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Segment on Operational Activities for Development, on the UNSDG Chair's report on the Development Coordination Office and the Resident Coordinator System, Cuba's Chargé d'Affaires, a. i. to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, reaffirmed Cuba's support for strengthening the development system with sufficient, predictable, and unconditional funding.
During the UNGA High-Level Interactive Dialogue on Culture and Sustainable Development, titled "Connecting cultures in the digital era", Cuba's Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuri Ariel Gala López, reaffirmed the country's commitment to protecting culture and promoting cultural diversity as drivers of sustainable development, social inclusion, and efforts to eradicate poverty and reduce inequalities.
