Garvey-Maceo High School celebrates 45th anniversary of founding

Clarendon, 19 May 2025. A representation of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, headed by Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, attended the ceremony marking the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Garvey-Maceo High School, one of the four educational centres donated by the Cuban people to the brotherly Jamaican people. The institution, located in May Pen, Clarendon, opened its doors on a date of special significance for Cuba in 1980, commemorating the fall in combat of our National Hero José Martí.

The Ambassador of Cuba was received by the Governor of the Riyadh region.

Riyadh, May 12th - The Ambassador of Cuba, Miguel Porto Parga, was received by the governor of the Riyadh region, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the governorate headquarters.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat thanked for the opportunity to be received by HRH, to whom he expressed his intention to support projects of common interest for the respective countries.

Cuba and Guyana Exchange Creative Experiences in Art and Fashion.

Georgetown, May 19, 2025. With the presence of Mr. Rafael Méndez, the prominent cultural promoter and artisan artist of the Cuban Association of Artisans and Artists (ACAA), an exchange with representatives of Guyanese culture took place at the Cuban Embassy in Guyana. The meeting allowed for a closer look at the diversity of the two countries. The presence of creators from different Guyanese ethnic communities was positive, coordinated by Guyanese entrepreneur Marlon Joseph, who led his country's representation.
