Cuba in Australia

Association of Cubans living in Melbourne is reactivated. 

Melbourne, 25 December 2023. As part of the activities carried out this weekend in the city of Melbourne, and taking advantage of the occasion of the itinerant Consulate held in that city, the Association of Cubans living in Melbourne was reactivated. 

In an exchange in which the Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia participated, the Cuban nationals present agreed to resume the activities of the association, with the aim of highlighting the values and traditions of our country in the Australian territory. 

Cuban Ambassador participates in presentation of poetry book at the Australian National University. 

Canberra, 24 November 2023. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia participated in the presentation of the book of poetry by the Peruvian writer Enrique Horna. One of the keynote speeches was given by the Cuban poet and writer Luis Manuel Pérez Boitel. The Ambassador was able to exchange with the Peruvian poet about the tradition of poetry in the largest of the Antilles as well as the work carried out by Cuban cultural institutions such as Casa de las Americas in this field.

Third Secretary participates in reception for the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Canberra, 23 November, 2023. The Third Secretary of the Embassy, Ivianes Gonzalez, participated in the reception on the occasion of the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ceremony was propitious to reiterate the will to continue strengthening bilateral relations as well as friendship and respect ties that exist between both countries and Missions.

New volume of Palabras magazine available

Canberra, 23 November, 2023. The new volume of the magazine Palabras is now available.

The magazine, the result of the work of the Spanish-speaking embassies in Canberra, Australia, aims at promoting the Spanish language in Oceania.

On this occasion, its fifth volume focuses on the theme of "sport".

The Cuban embassy presented an article by the renowned Cuban sports commentator, Evyan Guerra, on baseball in Cuba.
