Cuba will always be able to count on Saint Kitts and Nevis

As every year, the annual meeting took place with representatives of the associations that bring together solidarity with Cuba in Saint Kitts and Nevis, in which the affection, admiration and commitment to the Republic of Cuba was manifested by each of those present.

The main topics of greatest relevance for the period were reviewed and some of the initiatives that are already being worked on were presented.

Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis calls for the end of the US embargo against Cuba in the VIII Summit of Heads of State and Government of CELAC.

“Excellencies, I also take this opportunity to call for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial embargo on Cuba. What is the purpose? What does it achieve? Cuba continues to be a dear friend and a committed partner. Just recently our country needed a few medical specialists, and Cuba quickly responded. The countless lives that Cuban healthcare professionals have saved cannot be counted. Despite the limitations imposed on Cuba, it has accomplished great things. Let us imagine what Cuba could accomplish if given the space to do so. It is past time to lift this unjust embargo”.

Beyond borders and blockade: Cuba's influence in the Caribbean.

“Beyond borders and blockade: Cuba's influence in the Caribbean” was the imposed foots for members of the Cuban Alumni Association, together with Cuban diplomats in Saint Kitts and Nevis, who addressed the issue of the blockade imposed on the largest island of the Antilles, from another perspective. The condemnation of the blockade and the unwavering position of the people and government of Saint Kitts and Nevis against this policy, was expressed by the speakers who participated, among whom the Prime Minister of the Federation, Honorable Dr. Terrance Drew, and the president of the Cuban Alumni Association, Hollis Prentice.

The ceremony for the eighteenth graduation of nationals graduated from Cuban universities was held in Basseterre

As is tradition, this weekend the graduation ceremony of three new professionals from Saint Kitts and Nevis, who studied at Cuban universities, was held in this city; a Doctor of Medicine, a Civil Engineer and a Health Technologist. The event, organized by the Association of Graduates in Cuba, was chaired by the Prime Minister of the Federation, Honorable Dr. Terrance M. Drew, who is also an active member of this union.

RESOLUTION ON THE LIFTING OF THE ECONOMIC, COMMERCIAL AND FINANCIAL BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE REPUBLIC OF CUBA BY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The Assembly,

1.         EXPRESSES serious concern about the continuous and illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Cuban government and people;

 

2.         REAFFIRMS its full support to the resolution of the UNGA “Necessity to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”;
