Cuba and Cambodia for greater cooperation in the information sector

Cuba and Cambodia called today for strengthening collaboration in the information sector in a context of dizzying evolution of social networks and supremacy of large transnational information companies. That purpose was expressed in a meeting between the Minister of Information, NethPheaktra, and the ambassador of the island here, Liurka Rodriguez, who thanked the frequent and objective media coverage on the reality of the Caribbean country.

Cambodia’s Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra greets H.E. Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Cambodia, prior to their meeting at the ministry’s office here this afternoon. During the meeting, the diplomat highlighted the treatment in the media of Cambodia’s invariable position in support of the demand for the end of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, as well as the evolution of bilateral relations.

Cuban ambassador to Cambodia is received by the Minister of the Environment

The Cuban ambassador to Cambodia, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, was received by the Minister of the Environment, Eang Sophalleth, who heads the kingdom's delegation to the Summit of leaders of the Group of 77 and China on climate change. This event will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 2, within the framework of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Cambodia reaffirms invariable position against US blockade on Cuba

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia, Sok Chenda Sophea, ratified the invariable position of its country against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba. At a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Liurka Rodríguez, the top official reiterated the will of the new Cambodian Government to continue expanding ties with Cuba, because they were forged at difficult times, when friends are most needed. Sok Chenda praised Cuba’s contributions to the training of human resources and the revitalization of the Cambodian healthcare system at the time when it was most needed. The minister highlighted the progress of bilateral ties in areas such as agriculture, sports and education, following the agreements and consensuses reached during high-level visits in 2022.

Cuba's performance at the head of the G-77 and China is praised in Cambodia

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Cambodia, Yentieng Puthirasmey, today praised in Phnom Penh Cuba's performance as pro tempore president of the Group of 77. Puthirasmey received the Cuban ambassador in the Kingdom, Liurka Rodríguez, who delivered an invitation from the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, to Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet to attend the G77 Leaders’ Summit on climate change, scheduled for next December in Dubai.
