Cambodia Pledges to Work with Cuba despite the Latter’s Economy Sanctioned by US
Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to work with Cuba despite the latter’s economy sanctioned by the United States. The premier spoke during a courtesy call on Cuban president of the National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez, held on 24 September 2022. Esteban Lazo Hernandez said that the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Cuba so far are at a very high level, especially the visit by Samdech Techo to Cuba at this time is a testament to the improvement of bilateral relations.
PM Hun Sen Arrives in Cuba's Havana
Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and high-level delegation arrived in Havana on 23 September 2023 (Cuba time). At the invitation of Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, the premier is paying an official visit to Cuba from 23-25 September 2022. Premier Hun Sen will hold a bilateral meeting with Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez to discuss ways to further strengthen bonds of friendly relations between Cambodia and Cuba and expand areas of their cooperation.
Cuba preparing to warmly welcome Cambodian Prime Minister
Cuban is preparing to provide warm welcome to the third visit of Samdech Hun Sen, Ms Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Ambassador of Cuba to Cambodia told AKP. “Now we are in the middle of the preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit. For Cuba, the Cambodian Prime Minister’s new visit is an important event. Cambodia has a very good historical relationship with us. It is an honorific occasion to receive him again in Cuba, ”she said.
VFC sign Cuban volleyball coaches in SEA Games push
The Volleyball Federation of Cambodia (VFC) on September 16 signed two experienced Cuban coaches to join the Kingdom’s national indoor and beach volleyball teams.With the addition of the two new coaches, the federation expressed confidence at being best prepared to win gold medals at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2023, which Cambodia is hosting for the first time in its history. During the signing ceremony at the VFC headquarters in Phnom Penh, Karell Pena Ventoza was appointed beach volleyball team head coach and Berto Friol Barrios indoor volleyball team assistant coach.
Cambodian minister in Cuba to expand sports cooperation
Cambodia's Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Hang Chuon Naron, is visiting Cuba at the head of a high-level delegation of his country.
