Cambodia, Cuba to deepen cooperation on information exchange
The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Cuba have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation on information exchange for the mutual interest of the two peoples. The agreement was made by Cambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith and visiting Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, during their meeting here at the ministry this morning. Both sides agreed to improve the cooperation between the Cambodian state-owned news agency, Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) and its Cuban counterpart, Prensa Latina (PL), through the update of their cooperation agreement and visit exchange.
Cambodia, Cuba strengthen relations
Cambodia and Cuba have discussed the preparation for the upcoming exchange of high-level visits between the two countries with the strong expectation these historical visits would pave the way for the strengthening of the bilateral ties. The discussion took place between Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and visiting First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, during their meeting here on Sept. 2, 2022.
Cambodian Top Diplomat Receives Cuban First Deputy FM
Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn (L, Pic. 1) greets visiting H.E. Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, prior to their meeting here this morning. Both the Deputy PM and the First Deputy FM showed the interest in having information and experience exchange between the two countries. The Deputy PM and his interlocutor touched on the cooperation between ASEAN-Cuba and noted with pleasure the adherence of Cuba to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2020.
Cuban Ambassador: Cuban First Deputy Foreign Minister to visit Cambodia today
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba Gerardo Peñalver Portal will pay an official visit to Cambodia this week, said Ms. Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Ambassador of Cuba to Cambodia. Ms. Rodriguez Barrios said the most important objective of his visit to Cambodia is to arrange the exchange of high-level visit between the two countries and take the opportunity to continue discussing the plan to increase the relationship between Cuba and Cambodia.
Cuban coaches arrive as volleyballers set golden SEA Games target
Cuban indoor and beach volleyball officials and coaches have arrived in Phnom Penh to provide technical assistance and coaching for the Cambodian national team. The visit comes as the Kingdom's national teams, particularly beach volleyball, ramp up their preparations to be competing for medals when the Kingdom hosts the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) next year. Bringing in the four Cuban technical officers and coaches is part of a collaboration between the Volleyball Federation of Cambodia (VFC) and the Cuban embassy in Phnom Penh.
