Cambodia expresses support for Cuba against US blockade

Cambodian friends of Cuba planted royal palm seeds at the Cuban Embassy here on Tuesday as a symbol of bilateral friendship and rejection of the United States blockade against Cuba. The vice president of the Association of Cambodian Graduates in Cuba (AGCC), Rim Sovathara, said that the initiative is a way of renewing the commitment to accompany what they consider their second homeland, as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of diplomatic relations (April 15).

Cuban Ambassador Expresses Condolences Over Passing of H.E. Ek Tha

Ambassador of Cuba to Cambodia H.E. Ms. Liurka Rodríguez Barrios has extended her condolences over the passing of H.E. Ek Tha, Spokesperson of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Standing Vice Chaiman of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit (RGSU) and Advisor to the Ministry of Information. “I would like to keep the memory of Mr. Ek Tha's visit to our embassy, as well as other exchanges, in which he always conveyed his admiration and respect for Cuba, as well as gratitude for the solidarity shared during more than 60 years of diplomatic ties,” she added.

The U.S. determination to continue NATO’s progressive expansion towards the Russian Federation borders has brought about a scenario with implications of unpredictable scope, which could have been avoided. United States’ and NATO’s military moves towards regions adjacent to the Russian Federation in recent months, preceded by the delivery of modern weapons to Ukraine, which together conform a military siege, are well known.

Cambodia reaffirms support to Cuba

The Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba of the National Assembly of Cambodia reiterated today the rejection of this country to the blockade and the hostile policy of the government of the United States against the island. In a meeting with the Cuban ambassador here, Liurka Rodríguez, the president of that group, Nin Saphon, described as illegal and genocidal the economic, commercial and financial siege with which Washington has been trying for more than 60 years to frustrate the life project sovereignly chosen by the Island. 

Tribute to the Cuban National Hero José Martí in Cambodia

Members of the diplomatic mission and supportive friends in Cambodia paid tribute to the Cuban National Hero José Martí, on the 169th anniversary of his birth. Among white roses, El Maestro was evoked, whose ideas continue to pave the way for a fairer and more encouraging society. His feelings towards the country, loyalty and dedication were remembered, as well as his commendable contributions to journalism, diplomacy, literature, among many others. The work of José Martí will continue to burn in the soul of his people-Rodríguez Barrios highlighted.
