Cuban ambassador pays tribute to His Highness Norodom Ranariddh
The Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, participated in the funeral service for the death of Her Highness Norodom Ranariddh, former Prime Minister and former President of the National Assembly of Cambodia. The diplomat conveyed the message of condolences from Cuban Premier Manuel Marrero to his counterpart Hun Sen, extended to the royal family and the people of Cambodia.

The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, sent a message to his Cambodian counterpart, Hun Sen, to express deep condolences on the passing of His Highness Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh, former Prime Minister of Cambodia and former President of the National Assembly, with the request that he extend them to the royal family and the people of the Asian kingdom. The Cuban leader assured that his country will always be grateful for the contributions of his Highness to the strengthening of bilateral relations, as well as for the feelings of admiration and respect for Cuba.

The Cuban Ambassador in Phnom Penh, Liurka Rodríguez, met virtually with university students and Timorese fellows in the kingdom of Cambodia, with whom H.E Ambassador discussed the impact of Covid-19 on the educational sector. H.E Ambassador denounced that the aggressive policy of the United States against the Greater Antilles prevents the use of virtual platforms or recognized applications such as Zoom, for which there were various initiatives to support the non-face-to-face teaching process.

Cambodians and Cubans celebrated here the return of the island to normalcy, such as the reopening to tourism, the resumption of the school year and the effectiveness of their anti-COVID19 vaccines.
