Ottawa - This Thursday, October 16th, the exhibition "The Mirror of Our Magical Culture" was inaugurated in this capital city, curated by Lilia Faulkner Carranza, president of the Canadian institution Terra Art, within the framework of the celebrations for Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month in Canada, and for Cuban Culture Day.
The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participated, on October 10th and 11th, 2025, in the 1st Festival dedicated to the "trova" musical style held in Toronto, "Cuba sings and blossoms."
Organized by Nancy Quetzal and Ernesto Espinoza, the event featured the Cuban "trovadores" (troubadours) Raul Torres, Fidel Diaz Castro, and Erdwin Vichot, accompanied by a group of artists of different nationalities who joined together, armed with guitars, violins, saxophones, flutes, and poetry to represent the ultimate expression of Cubanness through music.
This October 10th, without shaking off the dust of the road, members of the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Canada visited the Latin America Park in Quebec City, where the only bust of José Martí in the vast Canadian geography is located, alongside that of other heroes of the independence of our America, such as the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
This October 9th, the Ambassador of Cuba to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, was received at the House of Commons by Member of Parliament Don Davies, interim leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP).
In a very interesting meeting, described as such by the Cuban Ambassador on social network X, both parties exchanged views on the international situation and the potential development of relations between Cuba and Canada.
Ottawa - On the afternoon of September 29th, Ambassador Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz received the CEO of "Diplomat & International Canada" magazine, Abdel Karim Awwad, at the Embassy of Cuba.
Karim Awwad explained in detail the purpose of the magazine, the type of articles that is published in it, and took the opportunity to praise Cuban culture, its traditions, its people, which is - he pointed out - among the best that a visitor to the Island can find, beyond sun and beach tourism, tobacco, and rum.

A valuable donation of medical supplies and equipment was received at the Tomás Carrera Galiano Hospital in the municipality of Trinidad, thanks to the noble work of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto.
After the arrival of the container, the reception and classification of the 900 packages took place. They contained expendable materials, forceps, syringes, catheters, surgical drapes for the operating room, beds, wheelchairs, as well as an autoclave.
Ottawa – As part of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Canada, the Cuban Embassy hosted the exhibition “Ties” by the renowned Cuban visual artist Michel Mirabal Martínez, who was present at the event.
In his welcome remarks, the Cuban Ambassador, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, introduced Mirabal and recalled activities carried out this year commemorating the first eight decades of bilateral ties.
