Cuba strengthens ties with Quebec
Quebec – From February 2 to 4, the Consul General of Cuba in Montreal, Susana Malmierca Benítez, carried out a working visit to Quebec City, where she participated in the 38th edition of the Annual Days for Heads of Consular Posts.
Prior to the event, Malmierca Benítez held a meeting with Mathieu Parenteau, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Quebec Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie. During the dialogue, they reviewed various aspects of the bilateral relationship between Cuba and Quebec, highlighting opportunities for mutual collaboration.

Declaration of the Revolutionary Government of Cuba
The Revolutionary Government of Cuba condemns, in the strongest terms, the new escalation against Cuba by the government of the United States in its efforts to impose an absolute siege on our country’s fuel supplies.
The executive order issued by the US President, announced on January 29, 2026, declares an alleged national emergency by virtue of which his government could apply trade tariffs to the imports of products from countries that supply oil to Cuba.
The lone star flag waved under the Ottawa sky
Ottawa – At the City Hall of the Canadian capital, the Cuban flag was raised this January 28th to commemorate the 173rd anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero, José Martí, and the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
The ceremony was presided over by Jeff Leiper, city councillor and Deputy Mayor of the City of Ottawa, alongside the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz.
