A delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba composed of the General Director of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, Ondina León Díaz, PhD, and the Head of the Multilateral Affairs Department, Maiky Díaz Pérez, PhD, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Canada, Héctor Igarza, and officials from the Cuban Embassy,held a meeting at the University of Ottawa with Dr. Peter Szyslo, from the International and Francophone Office, and Dr. Prof. Luis Abanto.
Strengthening academic ties between Carleton University and Cuba
On November 22, a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba composed of the General Director of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, Ondina León Díaz, PhD, and the Head of theMultilateral Affairs Department, Maiky Díaz Pérez, PhD, together with the Cuban Ambassador Héctor Igarza held a meeting with the Vice Rector of International Relations of Carleton University, Dr. Betina Appel Kuzmarov.
During the meeting, they discussed the academic ties that unite Carleton and Cuban institutions, which date back more than 30 years.
