Strengthening academic ties between Carleton University and Cuba
The Press and Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Cuba to Canada, Aileén Carmenaty, held a productive meeting with the Head of the International Relations Office of Carleton University, Ridhima Peravali. During the meeting, they exchanged on the ties that unite Carleton University and the University of Havana, which date back more than 30 years, as well as on the agreements signed between both institutions.
Voluntary work for Cuba
Defying the cold temperatures, friends of the solidarity groups and Cubans living in Montreal gathered together for voluntary work in commemoration of the 170th Anniversary of the birth of our National Apostle, José Martí.
The activities carried out aimed at preparing conditions for the reception of donations provided by solidarity members and Cubans living in Montreal, which are to be sent to Cuba in the near future. Likewise, members of the Cuban Consulate helped with the organizational tasks.
Fruitful exchange with students from the University of Ottawa.
A fruitful meeting was held at the headquarters of the Embassy of Cuba to Canada with Master's students from the University of Ottawa, where topics of interest such as bilateral relations between Cuba and Canada, the effects of the blockade and the hostile policy of the U.S. government toward Cuba, the achievements of the Revolution, and the principles governing the foreign policy of our country were discussed.
Toronto City Councillor Anthony Perruzza received Cuban Consul General
The Councillor Anthony Perruzza of Toronto City received Cuban Consul General, Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta, a fruitful occasion to explore ways to promote projects of mutual interest, mainly in economic and cultural matters.
The Canadian politician explained the settlement dynamics of the different nationalities and their integration into the cosmopolitan city of Toronto.
Commemoration in Toronto of the 64th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
The Consulate General of Cuba in Toronto participated in an event on the occasion of the 64th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution organized by the Canadian Network on Cuba, the CCFA-Toronto, the Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network and the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban residents in Toronto.
The event provided an authentic Cuban atmosphere, with the display of posters, books, flags, live traditional music and many messages from those who feel themselves to be Cuban at heart.
