Cuban ambassador in Cyprus attends ceremony for Greece's National Day.

Nicosia, Cyprus, March 25, 2026.– Invited by the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic in Cyprus, His Excellency Mr. Konstantinos Kollias, the Cuban Ambassador in this capital, Rubén Pino Martínez, joined on Wednesday the diplomatic corps accredited in this capital at the official reception offered by Greece on the occasion of its National Day.

The reception had the distinguished presence of Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, who highlighted in his speech the excellent bilateral relations between the two nations after presiding over the March 25 parade in front of the Greek embassy in Nicosia and reaffirmed that his government continues its efforts for the "liberation and reunification" of Cyprus, based on the lessons of the Greek War of Independence of 1821.

Ambassador Konstantinos Kollias thanked the guests for their presence at such a significant commemoration, "to celebrate together the anniversary of a key event in the modern history of the Greek nation and of Hellenism in general." March 25 marks the most decisive period in our modern and contemporary history. It led to the creation of the modern Greek State," he specified.

The Women’s Commission of the World Federation of Trade Unions expresses its full and militant solidarity with the Cuban people and the working women of Cuba, who for over sixty years have been resisting with dignity, determination and internationalist spirit the brutal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by US imperialism.

The blockade against Cuba is a criminal act, a form of economic warfare that aims to strangle a people who have chosen their own path of sovereignty, social justice and dignity. This aggressive policy directly affects the daily lives of Cuban workers, seeking to create hardship, scarcity and social pressure.

Strovolos Mayor receives new Cuban ambassador in Cyprus.

Nicosia, Cyprus, March 11, 2026.—The The Cuban ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, was received this Wednesday, March 11, at the Strovolos municipality headquarters by its top authority in the Mayor's Office, Mr. Stavros Stavrinidis.

The cordial meeting made it possible to discuss mutual interests between both parties to establish new proposals for joint collaboration and continue building cultural bridges between Cuba and Cyprus, in what constitutes—after Limassol—the second largest municipality on this Eastern Mediterranean island and the largest municipality in the capital area with more than 70,000 inhabitants.

Stavros Stavrinidis and Pino Martínez recalled the positive actions and initiatives carried out in this territory, with notable participation of Cuban artists residing in Cyprus, during previous editions of the Strovolos Municipal Christmas Festival or in the experience "Voices of America: A Journey through Latin American Literature,” led by Cuban writers as part of the 9th edition of the Nicosia Book Festival, where Latin American literature and, particularly, Cuban literature were the focus of the event held at the Acropolis Park in Strovolos.

The President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Receives the Cuban Ambassador in Nicosia

Nicosia, Cyprus, March 11, 2026. The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus, Her Excellency Mrs. Annita Demetriou, received in a courtesy visit and as his first official meeting, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, after he presented his credentials to the local government on February 20.

The also President of the DISY Party offered a warm and fraternal welcome to the Cuban diplomat at the usual headquarters of the House of Representatives in Nicosia, a meeting in which both parties reiterated their mutual gratitude for attending this scheduled meeting, which aims to deepen and diversify relations between the respective Parliaments and the legislative authorities of both nations.

During the day, a cordial and respectful exchange was promoted, where the Cuban diplomat updated the highest representative of the Cypriot parliament on the situation that Cuba is currently experiencing as a consequence of the sixty-year-old U.S. blockade policy and the executive order issued last January 29 by President Trump to prevent the access of oil to the island, and its terrible consequences for Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador Participates in the Commemoration of Ireland's National Day in Cyprus.

Nicosia, Cyprus, March 10, 2026.- On the occasion of the visit to this capital by the Irish Minister of Justice, Home Affairs and Immigration, Mr. Jim O'Collaghan, and invited by his Irish counterpart, Her Excellency Ms. Sarah Hamilton, the Cuban ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, attended the Reception for the National Day of the Republic of Ireland, held at the Pavilion Hall in Nicosia.

The Cuban diplomat greeted the host ambassador, whom he congratulated on the occasion of the upcoming March 17 celebration of this holiday of Catholic origin in honor of Saint Patrick (patron of Ireland), while also celebrating their national day commemorating the founding of that Republic. In this context, Pino Martínez wished her success in her performance before the Irish diplomatic mission in Cyprus.

The celebration on this day of “St. Patrick's Day” welcomed a large representation of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, as well as multiple government authorities and local institutions who attended in recognition of the traditional national date of the so-called «land of Éire».
