The President of Kpid raises her voice against anti-Cuban maneuvering in the European Parliament.

The leadership of the Communist Party in Denmark (Kpid) issued a statement signed by its President, Rikke Carlsson, against the maneuvering of a group of deputies in the European Parliament.

The party leader urges all Danish members in the European Chamber not to join this action and to speak out against a demonstration harmful to the Cuban people amid the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial   blockade of the United States against Cuba.

We have noted that the agenda of the next meeting of the European Parliament contains the item “Declaration of the VPC / HR - Human Rights and the Political Situation in Cuba” - Tuesday, June 8.

It is reported that this is an initiative of members of the European Parliament who want to question the existing agreements between the EU and Cuba when there is a constructive dialogue underway.

New York, 21 May 2021. Cuba, in addition to the serious effects caused by the current crisis, has had to face the application and tightening of the United States blockade. In 2020 alone, the cultural sector in Cuba reported damages amounting to $14,463,300, as a consequence of this policy, denounced today Alpidio Alonso Grau, Minister of Culture, at the high-level event on Culture and Sustainable Development, held at the United Nations.
