Cuba reiterates commitment to fight against corruption in UN Human Rights Council
Geneva, July 14, 2020 -- Cuba reaffirmed at the UN Human Rights Council its commitment to the fight against corruption, and called for it to always be addressed with respect for the sovereignty of countries.
Speaking in an interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, Diego García-Sayán, Cuban representative Jairo Rodríguez noted that the island had successfully completed two cycles of the review mechanism of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba on June 4 issued a statement rejecting and denouncing the actions of political manipulation regarding Cuba's role in the process to achieve peace in Colombia.
Almost 70 flights guarantee Cubans to return
Havana, Jul 10, 2020.- The director general of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad of Cuba's Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ernesto Soberon, announced on Thursday that some 70 flights guaranteed the return of Cuban citizens stranded abroad due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In Covid-19 times, 4,615 Cubans stranded in 49 countries have returned, as a result of 69 flights arranged by Cuban consulates and different counterparts in Cuba and abroad, Soberon explained on Twitter.

President Díaz-Canel to Participate in ILO Global Summit on COVID-19 and the World of Work
Havana, 6 July 2020. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez will participate in the Global Leaders´ Day of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Summit on COVID-19 and the world of work, to be held online on 8 July, with the participation of Heads of State and Government and prominent employer and trade union leaders.
