Cuban ambassador pays tribute to historic Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser
Cairo, April 28, 2025. Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, paid a well-deserved tribute to the historic Egyptian and Arab leader Gamal Abdel Nasser at the mausoleum where his mortal remains rest, located in a mosque that bears his name in this capital.
The diplomat from the Greater Antilles laid a wreath at the tomb of the Egyptian leader, and highlighted the figure and legacy of the former president for the Arab countries and the rest of the world.
Cuban ambassador to Egypt attends mass for the death of Pope Francis
Cairo, April 26, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, attended the mass held in the Church of St. Joseph in this capital on the occasion of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.
After the death of Pope Francis on April 21, Egypt also joined the Mass of thanksgiving for his pontificate, attended by the country's authorities, religious leaders, representatives of the diplomatic corps and Catholic faithful residing in Egypt, to pay him well-deserved honor.
Fruitful exchange between the Cuban Minister of Health and the Egyptian delegation participating in Cuba-Health 2025
Cairo, April 25, 2025. Cuba's Minister of Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, held a fruitful exchange with the Egyptian delegation participating in the 5th Cuba-Health 2025 International Convention.
The Cuban health minister thanked the Egyptian officials for their participation in the event, which is a reflection of Egypt's interest in continuing to develop and strengthen relations with Cuba in the field of health. The meeting followed up on the issues evaluated during the visit to the island of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population of the Arab country, which took place in March 2024.
Cuban President visits Egypt's stand at Health for All Fair
Cairo, April 26, 2025. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, visited the Egyptian stand at the Health for All Exhibition Fair, held within the framework of the V Cuba-Health 2025 Congress.
The Cuban President exchanged with members of the Egyptian delegation participating in the event, whom he thanked for their participation and for their interest in working with Cuba for the health of our peoples. Díaz-Canel ratified the interest of Cuba in continuing to work for the development of cooperation relations between the two countries.
Cuban Ambassador to Egypt signs book of condolences for the death of Pope Francis
Cairo, April 24, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, signed this morning, at the nunciature headquarters in this capital, the book of condolences for the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.
In his message, the Cuban diplomat conveyed on behalf of the Cuban people and government the most heartfelt condolences to the Holy See and all Catholics around the world. He also highlighted Pope Francis' commitment to the poor and the most disadvantaged, as well as his struggle for social justice, and his commitment to peace and solidarity among human beings.
