Cuba joins the statements delivered by the distinguished delegations of Ecuador, on behalf of the Group of 77 and China; El Salvador, on behalf of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC); and Maldives, on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island Developing States.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman,

Seven years after the adoption by the General Assembly of the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, this crime remains one of the major challenges facing the international community, and a real offense against the dignity of persons.

In his statement at the High-level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the Evaluation of the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Ambassador Rodolfo Reyes Rodríguez, Director General for Multilateral Affairs and International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and member of the Cuban delegation to the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly, confirmed that Cuba will maintain a policy of Zero Tolerance towards this crime.
