Cuban Foreign Minister begins official visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, March 12, 2025.- On Wednesday morning, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, arrived at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, who was received by the Director of Protocol Affairs of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, Aziza Geleta, the Deputy Director of Europe and America and current Acting Director, Abraham Megistu, the director for South America and the Caribbean, Demissew Kebede and the Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez Álvarez.
Cuba participates as an observer country in the opening of the 46th Executive Council of the African Union
Addis Ababa, February 12, 2025.- The Republic of Cuba, through its representative the Permanent Observer Ambassador of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, participated as an observer country in the opening session of the 46th Executive Council of the African Union (AU), which took place on February 12, 2025 at the organization's headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa, February 11, 2025.- In a solemn act of tribute, the ambassadors of Cuba to Ethiopia and to the African Union, Meylin Suárez and Lucas D. Hernández, together with the third secretary of the diplomatic mission, Natalys Dinza, signed the book of condolences at the Embassy of Namibia in Addis Ababa after the death of the Founding Father and first President of the Republic of Namibia, Sam Nujoma.
Cuba and the African Union strengthen ties in the framework of the debate on reparations and Afro-descendants

Hernández, recently visited the headquarters of the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) and held meetings with Dr. Gorden Simango, director of the African Union Office and Advocacy, and Justice Oman, executive of Programme, Research, Governance and Human Rights. During the meeting, the issue of reparations and Afro-descendants, selected by the African Union as the central axis for the year 2025 under the slogan "Justice for Africans and Afro-descendants through reparations", was addressed.
