Ambassador of Cuba highlights the historical importance of the victory of Karramara
Addis Ababa, March 4, 2022. The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, granted an interview this morning to the Ethiopian channel ETV, in commemoration this March 5, of the 44th anniversary of the victory in the Ogaden War, a fact known in Ethiopia as the Victory of Karramara. He recalled that in the Ogaden the Ethiopian troops, with the internationalist support of the Cuban combatants, defeated the aggression against the territorial integrity of Ethiopia, promoted from Somalia.
The African Union condemns the continuation of the United States blockade against Cuba

For the thirteenth consecutive time, the Assembly of the African Union, composed of the Heads of State and Government of Africa, adopted the "Resolution on the Lifting of the Economic, Commercial and Financial Embargo imposed on the Republic of Cuba by the United States of America".

Addis Ababa. January 21, 2022. In an official ceremony held in the impressive building, headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairman of the African Union Commission, received the Letters of Credence of Ambassador Lourdes Marrero Oro, accrediting her as Ambassador Permanent Observer of Cuba to that important multilateral organization.

Mrs. Sahle Work-Zewde, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, received the Letters of Credence from Ambassador Jorge Fernando Lefebre Nicolás, which accredits him as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in this sister African country.
