Cuba and New Zealand extend cooperation agreement that impacts health services in the Pacific

Wellington, September 11th, 2018. Cuba and New Zealand signed today in Wellington the extension of a cooperation agreement to support Cuban medical assistance in the Pacific.

The document, signed by Jonathan Kings, Undersecretary of the Pacific and Development Group at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trad and the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray Rodríguez, marks the commitment from both nations to continue promoting cooperation with the Pacific island nations.

 Fiji, September 10, 2018.- During his stay in Fiji, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz, completed an extensive program that included meetings with the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Acting Foreign Minister, former Major General Ioane Naivalurua, the Minister of Health and Medical Services, Rosy Akbar, the Minister of Defense, former Major General Ratu Inoke Kuababola, and the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Yogesh J. Koran.

Cuba extends medical collaboration in the Central Pacific Region

Havana, Aug 24 (ACN) Cuban medical collaboration extends in Oceania with the departure of a brigade of internationalists to the Republic of Nauru, a small island of Micronesia, located in the Central Pacific.

Specialists in Oncology, Nephrology, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Angiology, among others, will arrive in the country, some 12 thousand kilometers away from Cuba, to attend to the main health problems of the nation and develop health education activities.
