Finnish entities are invited to participate in FIHAV 2024
During an interesting exchange, the representative of Cuba in Finland, Beatriz Parra González, learned about the opportunities offered by the Finnvest company for commercial rapprochement between Finnish partners and the rest of the world. The Director of the institution, Birgit Nevala, offered a detailed presentation of the plans and objectives, as well as their main results. The Cuban diplomat informed the Finnish authority of Cuba's economic potential as part of the economic updating process, and invited them to participate in the next Havana International Fair, to be held in November 2024.
Meeting the historical memory of Cuba and Finland stored in the diplomatic archives
Regarding the upcoming celebration of the 95th Anniversary of Relations between Cuba and Finland, Ambassador Beatriz Parra González visited the Archive and Historical Information Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the meeting with its Director, Mr. Jyrki Paloposki, she learned about the functioning of the area and the possibilities for searching for historical information in the interest of both countries. The Cuban diplomat thanked the authorities for such a kind welcome, their commendable work in favor of the historical memory of our countries and the interesting proposals emanating from this exchange for future collaboration with the Document Management Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba.
Haiti will always have the solidarity support of Cuba
The Republic of Haiti suffers a serious multidimensional crisis that worsens social instability, poverty and structural underdevelopment caused by centuries of colonial and neocolonial plunder and foreign interventions. The international community owes a great debt to Haiti, a Caribbean nation that was the protagonist of the first independence, anti-slavery and social revolution on the continent, which has suffered the cruel and selfish reprisals of the imperialist powers for more than two centuries. Haiti needs true and sufficient assistance and cooperation for its reconstruction and progress, without external interference that has not been the solution, but the cause of its problems
Cuba explores academic exchange opportunities at the University of Helsinki
Cuban Ambassador Beatriz Parra González visited the University of Helsinki, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration between Cuba and Finland. It was also a pleasant tour in which the diplomat learned part of the history that its main building shares. The Embassy thanked Mr. Markus Laitinen, Head of International Relations for his nice welcome to Cuba.
In the historical footsteps of Cuba-Finland
Today we received again at the Cuban Embassy in Finland the researcher and professor from the University of Turku, Aleksi Huhta. Ambassador Beatriz Parra González wished him success on this trip in which he will follow the historical roots between Cuba and Finland. Our headquarters hopes that his project with the Institute of History of Cuba will be fruitful for the historical memory of both countries.
