An affectionate greeting, words marked by closeness and naturalness began this Friday afternoon, from the Palace of the Revolution, to the meeting that took place between the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and Josep Borrell Fontelles, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Vice President of the European Commission. Díaz-Canel Bermúdez told Josep Borrell that "visits like these, which have had an intense agenda, a broad program in various areas, allow us to get to know each other better." And he stressed that events like these contribute a lot to all the development that the implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement has had, which since 2017 has been working very intensively.

Cuba thanks Finnish authorities for their support against the US embargo

The director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Foreign Ministry of Finland H.E. Mr. Lasse Keisalo, held a metting with Cuban Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González. Both authorities dialogued about current issues of Cuba and the bilateral agenda. The Ambassador shared information on the scope of the measures of US embargo, aggravated in the period of the pandemic, in particular due to the impossibility of accessing to the banks, after the unfair inclusion of Cuba on the list of State sponsors of terrorism. Cuba diplomat highlighted the gratitude to Finland, as a member state of the European Union, for its historical accompaniment to the Cuban demand for the end of this cruel policy.

Cuba and Latvia dialogue on cooperation in health

An interesting exchange was held by the Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, during her visit to Latvia, with authorities from the Latvian Ministry of Health. The meeting focused on issues of mutual interest. Ambassador Beatriz Parra González spoke this Thursday with members of the Cuban community residing in Latvia on the recent migratory measures announced by the Cuban Government. During the exchange, aspects related to the validity of the extensions and the facilities that will be granted as of next July 1 were discussed, as announced by the General Director of Consular Affairs of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Ernesto Soberón Cárdenas. Those present welcomed the measures that in their opinion reiterate the country's interest in establishing a positive dialogue with Cuban residents abroad.
