From Finland: "No More Blockade to Cuba"
This Sunday, when the world lived another day of solidarity with Cuba, from the Äland Islands in Finland, the demand for the end of the blockade against our country was also heard. María Carla and Carlos, two Cubans residing in this Nordic nation, added their voices to those enormous Bridges of Love, for the rapprochement of families and the end of the politics that suffocates the country and puts its people in enormous difficulties.
Cuban Ambassador to Finland talks with the Director General of Development Policies of the Foreign Ministry
Ambassador Beatriz Parra González was received this Thursday by HE. Ms. Titta Maja, Director General of the Department for Development Policies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. At the meeting, the Cuban diplomat shared updated information about Cuba and the impact of the blockade on the national economy, as well as in daily life of the country. In the same way, she conveyed to her hostess the interest in generating mutual cooperation programs.
Director of "Septeto Son" welcomes the Consulate of Cuba in Finland
Our Consulate had the joy of receiving this Thursday the Director of "Septeto Son", Tero Toivanen, who has been promoting Cuban´s traditional music in Finland for 40 years. Accompanied by his wife María, with whom he has formed a Cuban-Finnish family, Tero as his friends know him, shared information about the Group's recent projects and his next trip to Cuba, which he considers his second home.
Vice President of the European Parliament calls the blockade against Cuba anachronistic
The Vice President of the European Parliament Pina Picierno described this Tuesday as anachronistic the blockade that the United States imposes on Cuba and demanded its end, upon receiving the Secretary of the Island's National Assembly, Homero Acosta. The member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats also rejected during the meeting in this capital the suffering that Washington's economic, commercial and financial blockade has caused the Cuban people for decades.
"Cuba Sí" magazine reflects the impact of the blockade on Cuban public health
The "Cuba Sí" Magazine of the Finland-Cuba Friendship Association reflects in its latest issue articles on the impact of the blockade on daily life on the Island, in particular on public health. In its pages, the publication also reproduces the greeting sent by the Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, to the Annual Assembly of this organization, which took place last month, in which she addressed the Cuban development strategy against the pandemic, the scope of the blockade in the Cuban family economy, and invited the friends of the Greater Antilles to expand their solidarity actions.
