Ambassador of Cuba is received by the President of Ghana
The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama received in his residence the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne Gonzalez with whom made a review of the cooperation actions that the Caribbean island is developing towards the sub-Saharan country, mainly in the field of health with the Ghanaian medical students in Cuba and the presence of Cuban Medical Brigades in the country.
The President of Ghana also signed the book of condolences for the death of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.
Night of Tributes to Commandante Fidel Castro
A political and cultural activity was held at the Freedom Center in Accra, in Tribute to the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, as part of the program organized by the Socialist Forum of Ghana in coordination with the embassy of Cuba, and the participation of members of the Diplomatic Corps and friends of Cuba.
Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ghana and Cuba strengthen work relations
The Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Mr. Gerardo Peñalver, in transit in Ghana, held a meeting with Mr. Edwin Nii Adjei, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, who analyzed and updated aspects of common interest.
Cuban Ambassador welcomes Ashanti traditional leader visit
Nana Odikwour Baah Kokroko III, Shediem's traditional leader, paid a courtesy visit to the Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.
During the meeting, the traditional leader and the Ambassador exchanged on the historical relations between the peoples of Cuba and Ghana, and on the date back to the pre-colonial period in Ghana and colonial times in Cuba. The Traditional Chief explained some elements of the history of the Ashanti Kingdom and over the role of the traditional Chieftaincy within the Ghanaian political system.
