Cuba and Ghana in pursuit of strengthen their cultural relations

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, H.E Pedro Luis Despaigne González was received by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare in the Headquarters of the Ministry.

The Cuban diplomat highlighted the existing cultural ties between Cuba and Ghana. Both parties made an assessment of the state of the Bilateral Cultural Agreement, signed in 2008 and ratified in 2013. The Minister expressed her support to the exchange of cultural delegations and as first action invited to a Cuban delegation to participate in the Carnival of Ghana.

Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana reaffirms his opposition to the blockade against Cuba

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González was received at the Ghanaian Parliament by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Edward K. Doe Adjaho.

The Cuban diplomat transmitted to the higher parliamentarian of Ghana greetings sent by the President of the Cuban National Assembly of the People Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández. He explained the composition of the Cuban parliament, as well as the percent of female presence in it. He also reported on the existence of the Cuba-Ghana Parliamentary Friendship Group and the will of strengthen the relations with the Ghanaian counterpart.

The Minister of Health of Ghana thanks Fidel for the solidarity with the Ghanaian people

The Minister of Health of Ghana, Hon. Dr. Alex P. Segbefia welcomed the Cuban Medical Brigade that has arrived in Ghana with the objective to cooperate in the medical assistance to the Ghanaian people.

In the ceremony, with the presence of the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne Gonzalez; the Head of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Ana Lubin and directors of regional hospitals, the Minister expressed his gratitude to the Cuban leader Fidel Castro, for his role in starting the relationship between Cuba and Ghana in the medical field.

Cuban Ambassador to Ghana presents the Report against the blockade

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Mr. Pedro Luis González Despaigne, Cuba presented in Accra the report of Cuba on the 70/5 resolution of the General Assembly of the Organization of United Nations (UN), entitled "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba", which will be put again to consideration of the UN main body on 26th October.
