Vice President of the State Council of Cuba concludes her visit to Ghana

The Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba, Mrs. Mercedes López Acea, concluded her visit to Ghana. The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mohammad Habibu Tijani, went to see her off at the airport.

The visit of the Cuban Vice President is part of the journey that includes four countries of the sub region (Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana and Seychelles - next country to visit) with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations. 

President of the Parliament of Ghana advocates strengthening relations with Cuba

The Cuban Vice President, Mercedes López Acea, and the delegation she leads were received at the Ghanaian Parliament House by its President, Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye, who highlighted that Cuba enjoys great respect in Ghana, in special for its commitment towards human beings.

The Cuban Vice President transmitted to the parliamentary leader a message from his counterpart the President of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and made reference to the diplomatic ties between both countries, begun on December 23rd, 1959.

The Vice President of Ghana highlights the good state of the relations with Cuba

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, received the Vice President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, Mercedes López Acea at the Flagstaff House.

During the meeting, the Ghanaian Vice-President addressed the support that Cuba provided to the national liberation struggle in the continent, and highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations.
