Foreign Minister of Ghana reaffirms strength of ties with Cuba
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, Hon. Mrs. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne Gonzalez, at the Foreign Ministry's headquarters.
The Minister, also a member of the Ghanaian Parliament, and who in the last September made an official visit to Cuba, expressed her satisfaction with the results achieved, and especially the quality of the meetings held with the Cuban leaders. She also said that she and the delegation that accompanied her felt the warmth and friendship of the authorities and people of Cuba.
Cuba strengthens health cooperation with Ghana
With the arrival of six new Cuban health specialists, the medical presence of the Caribbean Island in Ghana was reinforced.
The Cuban doctors were received at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra by the Cuban Ambassador, Pedro L. Despaigne González; the Head of the Cuban Medical Mission in the country, Dr. Ana Lubín García and the Coordinator of the Collaboration with Cuba in the Ministry of Health of Ghana, Mr. Hafez Adam Taher.
Currently, the Cuban Medical Brigade in the country has 20 members, and must be increased in the near future.
The President of Ghana receives historical photos with the Commander in Chief
The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne Gonzalez, was received by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his office, where they held cordial talks.
During the meeting, which addressed a group of issues that will strengthen their bilateral ties, the Cuban Ambassador handed over a frame to the Ghanaian President, which includes photographs of his meeting with the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, in April 2006, when he was Minister of Foreign Affairs.
ICAP representative confirms strength of solidarity ties with Cuba in Ghana
The Acting Director of the Africa and Middle East Division of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Yahimí Rodríguez Flores, made a working visit to Ghana from October 15 to 21, where she completed an extensive program of activities, including meetings and interviews with the representatives of the Campaign of Solidarity with Cuba in the country.
