Cuban Ambassador talks to the President of Ghana
The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González talks to President of Ghana, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, during the presentation of New Year Greetings to the President by the diplomatic corps, event carried out in the Flagstaff House.
The President of Ghana expressed his condolences on the passing of Fidel Castro, whom he met personally in his first trip to Cuba in April 2006. He also recalled some passages of the places he visited in that moment and expressed their desire to visit the island again.
Ghanaian Minister of Health receives the Ambassador of Cuba
The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, was received by the new Minister of Health, Mr. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, with whom he held a working meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry.
The Ambassador of Cuba congratulated to the Minister by his new responsibility. Both parties discussed the fulfillment of the Health Cooperation Agreement, which provides the legal framework for activity in Ghana of the Cuban Medical Brigade, which began its work in October 2016.
The ESBECAN reaffirm their gratitude and solidarity with Cuba
In the residence of the Ambassador of Cuba, in Accra, was held a fruitful meeting with members of the executive board of the Cuban Trained Ghanaian Graduates Association (ESBECAN).
The Cuban Ambassador, Pedro Luis González Despaigne, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity work with Cuba carried out by the former leadership of the ESBECAN, chaired by Mr. Kofi Asafo-Agyei, which concluded its work on 26th November, 2016. Besides, he urged the current executive to overcome those results, keeping the excellent level of communication achieved.
Cuban Ambassador meets the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection of Ghana
The Cuban Ambassador, Pedro Luis Despaigne González held a cordial meeting with the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Mrs. Otiko Afisa Djaba, during the Indian Food Festival organized by the Embassy of that country in Accra.
The Minister – who is member of the Parliament-, recalled the close ties that link both countries and was interested in knowing the technical and professional level reached by women on the island, as well as the percentage of female members of the Cuban Parliament.
