Message from the Jose Martí Cultural Association of solidarity with Cuba.

In 1959, news of the great victorious revolution in Cuba traveled around the world reaching our country. It was a time when the Greek people were experiencing persecution, exile, imprisonment, executions and extreme poverty at the hands of a regime imposed and supported by US imperialist policy. The news of a country on the American continent gaining national independence and sovereignty, gave us a new-found hope. The leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro, immediately became known as a symbol and a representative of this hope.

Message from the Greek Committee for International Democratic Solidarity (EEDDA ) to the Cuban people

The Greek Committee for International Democratic Solidarity (EEDDA), on a day like today, expresses its full solidarity with the Cuban people who are waging yet another difficult battle against imperialism.
EEDDA pays tribute to the great leader of the Cuban people, Fidel Castro, with gratitude for all that he taught us, because he has made us understand even more the notion of internationalist solidarity. Because it is a living symbol of solidarity with the peoples who fight for their rights, for a decent life for all workers. Because it is a lucid example for all people who fight against exploitation and oppression wherever they live.
