Event "Cuba is not alone, solidarity with the Cuban people" in Kalamata, Greece
Athens, October 18. On October 16, an event of solidarity with Cuba entitled "Cuba is not alone, solidarity with the Cuban people" was held in Kalamata, city of the Greek Peloponnese, organized by the Greek Committee for Distension and Peace (EEDYE) of Messinia. The event began with the words of Dimitris Oikonomakos, president of the Committee in the Messinia region, and organizer of the event, then a speech by the Cuban ambassador to Greece Zelmys María Domínguez Cortina and another by Grigoris Anagnostou, executive secretary of national EEDYE.
Cuban poets of independence led by Jose Martí present at LEA Grecia
Athens October 18. Within the framework of the XIII LEA Festival (Literature in Athens), at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center a beautiful and patriotic Tribute to "The Greek Revolution, the Latin American independence movements and their poets" was held on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution and of several Latin American countries. The director of the Festival Adriana Martínez, presented the event, which was greeted by the Cuban Ambassador to Greece Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina and the diplomat Laura Olivia Mora from the Embassy of Mexico on behalf of Ambassador Daniel Hernandez. Next, the Greek ambassador and writer Vasilis Papadopoulos, director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, referred to the work of Dionisyos Solomos, national poet of Greece; the Counselor of the Cuban embassy, José Oriol Marrero Martínez, referred to Cuban poets of independence such as José María Heredia, Joaquín Jacinto Luaces, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, and Juan Clemente Zenea, led by the national poet José Julián Martí Perez; The Mexican playwright Luis Edoardo referred in his paper to the Mexican national poet Ramón López Velarde, a presentation that was read in his place by Leonora Moreleon, president of the Abanico foundation. The moderator was the intellectual Eduardo Lucena, who also asked the speakers several questions at the end, which provided interesting additional information to those present through the responses of the speakers. The event concluded with the words of the famous Greek writer Petros Márkaris, honorary president of the LEA. It was an interesting event that paid well-deserved tribute to the poets who sang to freedom.
Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba in Hellenic Parliament receives Cuban diplomats
Athens, October 14, 2021, the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba in the Hellenic Parliament, received, at headquarters of the Parliament, the ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina and the counselor José Oriol Marrero Martinez. On the Greek side, Dionysis Aktypis, President (New Democracy Party); Yannis Giokas - Secretary (Communist Party of Greece / KKE), and the members: Maria Apatzidi (MeRA25 Party); and from the Syriza party the members Eirini - Eleni Dimitriou Agathopoulou; Eirini (Nina) Kasimati; Giorgos Katrougkalos and Nikolaos Syrmalenios, as well as members of the parliament's foreign relations department.

The WFTU International Symposium titled “The message of the life and struggle of Ernesto “Che” Guevara” took place on October 9th , on the 54th anniversary of his assassination by the CIA agents.
More than 80 trade union cadres took part in the symposium representing trade unions from every corner of the world paying tribute to the great revolutionist leader.
