Díaz-Canel sends deepest condolences on Iranian President death
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Saturday reaffirmed his dismay over the death of Iranian President Sayed Ebrahim Raisi in a plane crash. On behalf of the Cuban people and government, the Cuban leader signed the book of condolences opened at the Iranian embassy in Havana in connection with the unfortunate event, which also caused the death of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and other citizens.
Cuba warns of aftermaths of Israel’s offensive in Rafah
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez warned on Tuesday that with the military offensive in Rafah, Israel is ramping up its acts of genocide against the Palestinian people. Rodriguez denounced on X that Israel’s crime is only possible because of the complicity and military and logistical support of the U.S. Government. The Cubano diplomat stressed that the creation of the State of Palestine is the only fair and lasting solution to this conflict. On Tuesday, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that nearly 450,000 people have left Rafah in the last week ‘fleeing wherever they can, even into the rubble and sand dunes.’
Cuban transport minister visits Iran
Cuban Transport Minister Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila arrived in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on Wednesday, in response to an official invitation Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Abbas Aliabadi, diplomatic sources informed. Rodríguez Dávila was received by Deputy Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Farshad Moghimi after arriving at the Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Cuba calls for peace in the Middle East
Cuba warns of the dangers posed by the impunity with which Israel, with the complicity and support of the United States government, has acted against countries in the Middle East. We reaffirm our call for a de-escalation of violence in the Middle East region, which necessarily requires an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to put an end to the genocide being committed today against the Palestinian people.
