Invitation to the First Congress of the Tenth and Improvised Verse
The Centro Iberoamericano de la Décima y el Verso Improvisado (CIDVI), invites poets-repentistas, writers, musicians, cultural promoters and researchers from Ibero-America to participate in the First Ibero-American Congress of the Décima and Improvised Verse, which will take place on 28, 29 and 30 September 2022 in Havana, Cuba.
Cuban Education Brigade in Jamaica is renewed
Kingston, 29 August 2022. The Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, together with officials of the diplomatic mission and officials of the Ministry of Education and Youth of Jamaica, received this morning 12 new members of the Cuban Educational Brigade in Jamaica who arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, to join the new school year in September.

Members of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, Cuban residents, Jamaican friends and those from other parts of the world who make up the Cuba Solidarity Movement and representatives of political organisations and social movements converged on the morning of 28 August in front of the monument dedicated to Major General Antonio Maceo, located in Jamaica's National Heroes Park, to demand an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba.
Embassy of Cuba celebrates 62nd anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women
Kingston, 23 August 2022. In a simple ceremony, the Cuban Embassy in Jamaica celebrated the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).
Luis Alberto Ruiz Dominguez, Secretary of the PCC Nucleus, recalled the role played by Cuban women in our struggles for independence and the legacy of the eternal president of the FMC, Vilma Espin. He also recognised the outstanding work of the female members of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica, who undertake the tasks of the Revolution with a creative and renovating spirit.
Jamaican government sends donation to Cuba
Kingston. August 21 2022. Jamaica's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT) announced on its Twitter account on Saturday afternoon, August 20, the dispatch of the first part of a shipment of medical supplies to Cuba in response to the devastation caused by the explosions at the Matanzas supertanker base.
