Eternal Honor to the 32 Heroes Fallen in Venezuela
Havana, January 16, 2026 – Havana and all of Cuba observed days of profound mourning and revolutionary resolve between January 15 and 16, in homage to the 32 Cuban heroes who fell in Venezuela during the United States aggression. The tributes, led by the highest leadership of the Revolution and massively supported by the people, reaffirmed the condemnation of the state terrorism perpetrated by the U.S. government.

Vientiane, January 15. Heartfelt condolences and posthumous tribute to the 32 Cuban combatants who fell in Venezuela in the line of duty, following the criminal attack by U.S. troops, were paid by the Diplomatic Corps in Havana, including the representative of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, His Excellency Mr. Vantha Senmeuang.

High-ranking Cuban leaders stand guard of honor for the 32 fallen combatants in Venezuela
Vientiane, January 15, 2026. Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez stood guard of honor at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces for the 32 Cuban combatants who died in Venezuela.
They were accompanied by the respective ministers of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior.

The Embassy of Cuba joins the Cuban people in welcoming the fallen combatant heroes who died in the line of duty, following the treacherous US military aggression in Venezuela. The pain is not shared, but multiplied, just as the courage of the Cuban people and their children multiplies, whose bravery demonstrated how to defend the Homeland to the last drop of blood.

The Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba affirms that in the context of the intense recovery effort that immediately began in Cuba following Hurricane Melissa's passage through the country on October 29, 2025, and the solidarity assistance that also arrived from the outset, the U.S. government announced its intention to send humanitarian aid. Seventy-seven days have passed.
