Cuban Embassy in Liberia remembers Mandela on his 102nd birthday
Monrovia, July 18, 2020 - To honor this icon of the struggle against apartheid and his selfless contribution to humanity, the Cuban Embassy in Liberia enjoyed a screening of the documentary "Mandela and Fidel".
Mandela became the first democratically elected president of South Africa in 1994. He led the country in starting a multiracial establishment. He ended his work as president in 1999, after completing his term and refusing to serve a second term.

Monrovia, July 7, 2022 - Cuban Chief of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera held a cordial exchange with Liberian leader Cllr Yvette Chesson-Wureh, promoter of gender equality and Coordinator of the Angie Brooks International Center for the Empowerment of Women.
The two women exchanged on gender equality in Liberia, which ranks men and women in four key areas: health, education, economics, and politics.
