Cuban Ambassador attends Ghana independence commemoration

In order to commemorate the 69th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Ghana, a beautiful celebration took place at Monrovia City Hall.

Along with members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and prominent Liberian figures, Cuban Ambassador Dr. Indira López Argüelles was present to convey congratulations and best wishes for prosperity and development to the brothers and sisters of this African nation.

With the university year about to begin, the faculty of the University of Liberia invited Cuban Ambassador Dr. Indira López Arguelles to be the guest of honor at the opening ceremony.

In addition to referring to the cruel US blockade of Cuba and its harmful effect on the normal functioning of classes and learning at universities in Cuba, the diplomat also addressed current issues for teachers and students on the island, in Liberia, and globally.

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Gbeme Horace-Kollie, on Monday received Indira López Argüelles, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, during a courtesy visit aimed at reinforcing cooperation between the two nations.

Discussions focused on expanding bilateral collaboration in line with the Government of Liberia’s agenda for gender equality, social protection and inclusive national development.

Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the attacks perpetrated this 28 February by the United States and Israel, which breach the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and International Law.
