The Minister of Youth and Sports, the Honorable Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Her Excellency Dr. Indira López Arguelles, at the Ministry headquarters. The diplomat explained to the young minister the historical relationship between Cuba and Liberia, from which several Liberians have benefited, becoming technicians and specialists in the field. Dr. López Arguelles, in turn, highlighted the significant challenges facing sports in Cuba as a consequence of the intensified US blockade and harassment of the Cuban people.

Cuba and Liberia Commemorate 52nd Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
To commemorate the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Liberia, approximately one hundred people gathered at the Paynesville Cultural Center. A cultural exchange took place there, where community members, students, authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and the Cuba-Liberia Friendship Association enjoyed dances, tourism and music videos, as well as Cuban food. Liberian Legislature Interacts with Diplomatic Corps
The diplomatic corps present in Monrovia visited the Liberian Legislative Assembly, holding discussions with the heads of the parliamentary committees and the Speaker, the Honorable Richard Kung.
The diplomats were briefed on the main bills under debate, the Assembly's recent agreements regarding the nation's economic development, and the priorities identified by the members of Congress for relations with other nations.
