Palmerston North´s Festival of Culture

Wellington, February 24th, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador, Luis Ernesto Morejón, attended to Palmerston North´s Festival of Cultures.

Mayor of the city, Grant Smith, welcomed all the diplomatic corps and during his speech he invited us to get to know and learn about the history, traditions, and cultural wealth of people all around the world who took part in this event.

On behalf of the City Council, Mayor Smith thanked the engraving of "Morro de la Cabaña" by the Cuban plastic artist Yosvany Martínez as a gift from the Cuban Ambassador.

Meeting with Diplomatic Corps in the Tahuaroa Function Centre on the Waitangi Treaty Grounds

In the Governor General final Waitangi Day engagement for this year, Her Excellency hosted the Diplomatic Corps for a very special luncheon in the Tahuaroa Function Centre on the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. The luncheon included moving reflections on the past week at Waitangi, the sharing of kai, and, of course, waiata.

New Cuban Ambassador presented his Credentials to Governor General of New Zealand

In an official ceremony held last Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Government House in the city of Auckland, Ambassador Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez presented to Her Excellency, the Right Honorable Dame Cindy Kiro, Governor General of New Zealand, the credentials that accredit him as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba.

During the cordial exchange, the Ambassador ratified Cuba's will to continue promoting solidarity, cooperation and integration to strengthen bonds between our countries.
