Cuban ambassador holds fraternal meeting with President of the Green Party of Cyprus

Nicosia, Cyprus, January 27, 2026.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, held a fraternal meeting this Tuesday with the President of the Green Party of Cyprus (Movement of Ecologists - Citizen Cooperation), Mr. Stavros Papadouris, who officially received the Cuban diplomat at the party's headquarters, located in the Strovolos District, in this capital.

There, the Cuban ambassador received a warm and fraternal welcome during his first visit to the aforementioned political group, where both parties shared updates and points of bilateral interest related to climate change, the environment, as well as the social, political, and economic context currently affecting both nations amid the current international scenario.

The Cuban diplomat illustrated the difficult situation that the island is currently experiencing, a victim of a six-decade-old policy of economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba; exacerbated by the imposition of hostile measures and economic suffocation against the largest of the Antilles, and intensified following the vile and cowardly imperialist aggression against Venezuela on January 3.

Nicosia, Cyprus, January 26, 2026.- Invited by the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Cyprus, His Excellency Mr. Manish, the Ambassador of Cuba to this capital, Rubén Pino Martínez, attended this Monday the official reception hosted by that nation on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Indian Republic Day.

The host diplomat, who has represented the Asian nation's interests in Cyprus since May 2024, briefly outlined a summary of its social, political, and economic achievements, its prominent rise and recognition on the global stage, not only for its industrial and scientific-technical development (considered among the five strongest economic powers in the world), but also for its cultural, culinary, and artistic diversity of notable prestige.

In this context, Pino Martínez thanked for the invitation and congratulated his counterpart, while also extending similar congratulations to all the citizens of India on their national day, especially to their large resident community and to the friends of that nation on this island in the eastern Mediterranean, who showcased the best of their culture, dance, and musical traditions in a gala of high artistic value.

Nicosia, Cyprus. January 22, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, received a courtesy visit this Thursday from Pastor Aristotelis Tsinoglou, national representative of the Evangelical Church of Greece in Cyprus and president of the NGO 'Agape' (Love).

During the meeting, the highest representative of the Cypriot Evangelical Church conveyed to the Cuban diplomat the expressions of welcome and respect from his institution towards the new ambassador of the island as a customary practice of consideration and a wish for success in his role before the Cypriot government.

The Cuban ambassador expressed his gratitude for the visit and best wishes, while also welcoming —on behalf of his people and the government he represents— their hopes for peace, tranquility, and prosperity toward the largest of the Antilles, amid the difficult conditions currently facing his nation, a victim of the criminal blockade that the government of the United States has imposed on Cuba for over sixty years.

In these days of pain and shock on the island due to the fall in combat of the 32 sons of the homeland of José Martí during the Yankee invasion of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the president of the AAChC, Andreas Chrysanthou, shared the feelings of his fellow members of the Association and reiterated his ongoing support for the largest of the Antilles, a commitment they will explicitly and personally reaffirm in the coming days during a visit to the Cuban diplomatic mission in Nicosia. According to members of the board, this will be their clear and unmistakable way of reiterating their condemnation of the Yankee aggression against Venezuela and the vile and criminal kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife by U.S. elite forces.
