Ambassador signs Book of Condolences for the death of Robert Mugabe

The Cuban ambassador to Zimbabwe signed this morning the Book of Condolences opened for the diplomatic corps based in Harare, for the death of former president Robert Mugabe. The Zimbabwean leader died on September 6 in Singapore, the country in which he received health treatment. Mugabe was a great friend of Cuba and is recognized as the founding father of the Nation.

The Ambassador of Cuba to Austria visits facilities of the city of Vienna

The Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández, was received by Josef Thon, Head of Municipal Department 48 of the city of Vienna. After the meeting, they toured some facilities. The Cuban Ambassador reiterated his gratitude to the city of Vienna for the recent donation of the 10 urban solid waste collection trucks, which are expected to arrive in Havana on 22 October, as part of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the foundation of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana.

The instrumentalization of the Security Council as a tool for political pressure against sovereign States must end, says Cuba.

In her statement at the presentation of the Annual Report of the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, Deputy Permanent Representative and Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Cuba to the international organization, expressed her concern about the unjustified expansion of the Security Council’s agenda in recent years.

Ambassador meets with Director of the National Cancer Center of Mongolia.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. September 12, 2019. Professor and Doctor of Science, Dr. Jigjidsuren Chinburen, General Director of the National Cancer Center of Mongolia, held a meeting at the Embassy of Cuba with Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción in which they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between scientific research institutions and producers of Cuban medicines and this Mongolian center.

U.S. Laws and Regulations Codify Blockade against Cuba

New York, 12 September 2019. The economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba by the government of the United States is based on a series of laws and regulations, whose validity and strict compliance have been maintained throughout six decades.

Several U.S. government agencies, including the Department of the Treasury and Commerce and in particular the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), are responsible for enforcing the following regulations:
