NASSAU, 19 April 2017. During an interview to the news channel ZNS; the most important of its type in The Bahamas, the Cuban Ambassador to this Caribbean nation, Ismara M. Vargas Walter, denounced the reinforcement of the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

The diplomat referred to the recent measures announced by the government of the United States, emphasizing on the implementation of Chapter III of the Helms-Burton Act and the further tightening of the United States citizens to travel to Cuba.

The Bahamas, 25 June 2019. A few months ahead the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Cuba, the Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, Ismara M. Vargas Walter, used the words “friendship, solidarity and respect” to describe the relationship.

Dr. Salah Hasaballah, head of the Freedom Party of Egypt, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Tania Aguiar Fernández, at its headquarters. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Saleh Hashim; Assistant of Organizational Matters of the Party; Dr. Ahmed Idris, Secretary of the Organization; Dr. Jihan Bayoumi, Secretary of Women's Affairs; Moamen Sayed, Secretary of Political Affairs and Rami Zuhdi, Secretary of International Relations. On the Cuban side, Counselor Dennis Casares Benítez attended.

Organized by the Permanent Missions of Cuba, Iran and Venezuela, the "International Seminar on Unilateral Coercive Measures (MCU) and its Impacts" will take place in Vienna on Thursday, June 27. .

The event will focus on the potential effects of such measures on the lives of people, including human rights. The event aims to create a space for the exchange of criteria between diplomats, academics and experts from civil society, aimed at raising awareness about the illegality and effects of unilateral sanctions, with a view to preventing, minimizing and correcting them.

At the headquarters of the AZERSUN consortium, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, held a working meeting with its executive director, Savash Uzan, with whom he discussed the possible presence of an Azeri delegation at the International Fair of Havana, FIHAV 2019

The Cuban diplomat stressed that the FIHAV, in its XXXVII edition, will be held from November 4 to 8, in Havana and will involve Cuban and foreign businessmen, foreign official delegations, chambers of commerce and organizations promoting trade and investment.

The Ambassador of Cuba in Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, visited the headquarters of the Food and Drugs Authority of Ghana (FDA), where he was received by Mrs. Delese Mimi Darko, its Chief Executive Director.

THE 6th African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba will be held in Nigeria from September 23 to 25, 2019.  According to a statement, the Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, a continuity of its five previous editions, will confirm the international support for the validity of the model of social justice that Cuba symbolises and its viability as an alternative for that “other better and possible world” for which the peoples of the world struggle.

The Group of Ambassadors of Latin America and the Caribbean accredited in the United Arab Emirates, we held a fruitful meeting of joint work with the Director General of IRENA, Francesco La Camera, in the international organization headquarters in Abu Dhabi, where the maximum directive made a presentation on the general objectives to work for the development of cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

In addition, Mr. Gurbuz Gonul, Director Division of Support to Countries and Alliances (CSP), offered a presentation with interesting information.
