Friends of Cuba in Australia demand the end of the blockade in front of the US Consulate General in Perth

Canberra, June 12, 2019. Members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) in the State of Western Australia gathered at the US Consulate General in the city of Perth, in an act of protest against the measures implemented by the current US Administration to strengthen the blockade against the island.

With banners of "Down with the Helms-Burton Act" and "Lift the US blockade on Cuba", the demonstrators carried out a noble gesture of solidarity with Cuba which they intend to maintain with a monthly frequency in the future.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba will visit Santa Lucia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, will begin a visit to a group of  Caribbean countries on Tuesday, including Saint Lucia,  Trinidad and Tobago, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and Barbados. He will also head the delegation that will participate in the VI CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting, to be held in Guyana on June 14.

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the measures announced by the United States Government on 4 June 2019, further tightening the economic blockade imposed on Cuba for over 60 years, at a cost for the Cuban economy which amounted to over 134 billion dollars in 2018 at current prices, and to the figure of 933 billion dollars, taking into account the devaluation of the US dollar vis-à-vis the price of gold in the world market.

9th Canadian Network on Cuba Convention Held in Toronto

Toronto, June 9, 2019.- The Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) solidarity network held its 9th Biennial Convention from June 8-9, 2019, in Toronto. Elizabeth Hill and Isaac Saney, CNC co-chairs, welcomed Ambassador of Cuba to Canada, Josefina Vidal and special invited guests from the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Mrs. Sandra Yisel Ramírez, Director of North America, and Mr. Yamil Martínez, Canada desk official.

CNC member groups reported the work carried out by their organizations since the 8th Convention in 2017. During the panel discussions, Convention delegates exchanged viewpoints and experiences on the movement of solidarity with Cuba and Latin America.

Cuban Minister arrives in Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, June 11. - Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, arrived in Trinidad and Tobago, the first stop of a tour of the Caribbean to further strengthen relations with the region.

"I arrived on an official visit to Trinidad and Tobago, our sister nation of the Caribbean, to which historic ties of friendship and cooperation unite us," Rodriguez said in his Twitter account.

NY Times Says Removing Cuba´s More Doctors Program Affects Brazilians.

Washington, June 11, 2019.The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Brazilian government´s decision on stopping Cuba´s More Doctors Program still affects 28 million people.

The information recalled that President Jair Bolsonaro said they could solve the absence of Cuban professionals counting on the graduation of about 20,000 physicians per year, but six months after having taken office in January, such statement has not become real.

Athens, 11 June: An important event act of solidarity with Cuba was held organized by the Jose Marti Cultural Association of solidarity with Cuba, "All are Venezuela" Organization, the movement Pan Hellenic antiwar and Greek solidarity network. The event was titled "Venezuela, Cuba, Latin America: imperialism will be defeated." During the event took the floor the head of mission of Venezuela in Greece Freddy Fernandez, Ambassador of Cuba Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, and representatives of the associations that organized the event. The moderator was Professor Dimitris Kaltsonis. There was also a documentary about the Greek participation in the May 1st Brigade and the international meeting of solidarity in Cuba in May 2019.
